This week-long expedition is timed for the early phase of the Plains severe weather season, when powerful supercells begin forming across Texas and Oklahoma. Participants will learn how meteorologists analyze weather models, target storm development zones, and safely intercept storms.

Kansas City, Missouri Expedition

Late-season chasing brings powerful summer storm systems and breathtaking lightning displays.

Based out of Kansas City, this expedition focuses on intercepting high-energy thunderstorms across the central plains. While tornadoes are still possible, this time of year often produces spectacular supercells, shelf clouds, and some of the most photogenic lightning storms of the season.

This is a perfect trip for photographers and anyone looking to experience storm chasing at its most visually dramatic.
